Texas Tea Party / Politics Katrina Pierson is a Steering Committee member for the Dallas Tea Party and Founder of the Garland Tea Party. As a working single mother, she has transformed into a political activist practically overnight. Mrs. Pierson was recognized by former Senator Fred Thompson as the Tea Party Darling, and was noted to give the most moving speech in the country out of all of the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Party events. Mrs. Pierson has appeared numerous times on local news and talk radio, and has been a frequent guest on Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN and Fox Business Channel. She is now the Executive Director of WatchtheVote.org, which serves as a grass-roots watchdog tool for the United States Congress. Serving on the Texas Tea Party Caucus Advisory Committee, her primary goal is to help regain community strength by educating voters and training citizens how to arm themselves with the knowledge to make informed decisions at the polls to conserve liberty and restore the equal pursuit of happiness.
